WIGAN face a possible backlash over the Carlos Tevez affair at West Ham but Upton Park holds no fears for boss Chris Hutchings.

Chairman Dave Whelan slammed the Hammers last season and reacted furiously when they escaped a points penalty and Sheffield United were relegated.

But Hutchings insisted: "What happened, happened. It's been dealt with and it's in the past.

"We don't dwell on it and we don't think about it. As far as I'm concerned it's gone and we are going there to play a game of football.

"The West Ham fans are very passionate and make a lot of noise and it's a great place to go.

"We've done well there in recent seasons but that counts for nothing."

Alan Curbishley has spent close to £30m recruiting big names including Wales skipper Craig Bellamy, who destroyed Latics with two goals in Liverpool's 4-0 win at the JJB last season.

Hutchings added: "After what he did to us, he's probably relishing playing against us again. But you can't worry about one man - they have a host of players who can cause problems.

"They have spent a lot but there's no doubt they have a lot of quality. We know we will have to be at our best to come away with something."
