STOCKPORT striker Luke Beckett was due to play his first competitive game in seven months today.
Beckett, who scored 40 goals in 72 games for County before a cruciate ligament injury wrecked his season, has been named in the County Reserves side taking on Bury at Gigg Lane this afternoon.
After a few training matches with the County youth squad Beckett has been frustrated by a couple of niggling injuries.
County boss Sammy McIlroy has said he is unwilling to push Beckett into first-team action too soon after such a serious injury, and with Jon Daly and Aaron Wilbraham currently doing so well Beckett's re-appearance for the first-team may have to wait until the start of next season.
Is Beckett head and shoulders above the other strikers at County? have your say
