County pair set for quick move

STOCKPORT duo Dave Challinor and Martin Pemberton could be lining up for two local rivals tomorrow.

Ex-Tranmere defender Challinor is wanted by Bury caretaker boss Graham Barrow to solve his side's defensive problems.

And Pemberton could be reunited with his old Mansfield town chief, Steve Parkin at Rochdale.

Barrow and Parkin were negotiating with the Edgeley Park pair last night, hoping to complete their loan signings ahead of their respective fixtures against Swansea City and Yeovil Town.

"Challinor is a player I've had my eye on for a bit but nothing has been sorted out yet," said Barrow.

"I've certainly got an interest in Pemberton but there are a few loose ends that need tying up," added Parkin.

Will you be glad to see Dave and Martin go? have your say

I'm delighted that Challinor looks to be on his way. The best bit of news I've heard since McIlroy took over and City last got relegated.

They've not been doing the business, so it's best to let them go. That should free up wages to get the right players in and strengthen the team.
