STOCKPORT go into their clash with high-flying Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough without star striker Luke Beckett.

The hitman, who has already notched four goals in four games, is suspended following his red card against Tranmere and is likely to be replaced by Aaron Wilbraham.

And there continue to be fears about Beckett in the longer term, with the club still awaiting the results of a scan on the knee he twisted in last week's home draw with Port Vale.

Stuart Barlow played his way into contention with a goal and an assist in the Reserves' 3-0 win over Bury on Wednesday.

The good news for County is that Ali Gibb is over his ankle trouble and on-loan keeper Nick Colgan has reported back from Republic of Ireland duty unscathed.

"I still live in Sheffield, so I know I will get plenty of banter if we lose."
