BEN Burgess scored his first goal for Stockport County as the Hatters came from behind to earn a point against Cheltenham.
The Irish striker struck from Ali Gibb's cross in the 41st minute after Dave Challinor had sent the winger clear.
Burgess' strike levelled the scores after Julien Alsopp had struck against the run of play.
Cheltenham started well and forced two saves from the returning Alan Blayney, but Stockport came into the game and almost took the lead through an own goal when Alsopp sliced against his own post.
After the striker had scored in the right goal and Burgess' strike, Stockport threatened again and Burgess missed a glorious chance to double his tally.
The second half was a disappointment and it wasn't until the 82nd minute that either side created a genuine chance.
Martin Devaney burst through the County defence, but Blayney stood his ground to make a good save.
And County should have sealed all three points soon after, but Jon Daly completely mis-hit his shot after the ball had broken to him just six yards out.
