Alfy - I want 20 goals

STOCKPORT Express player of the month for October Adam Le Fondre wants 20 goals this season.

The teenage hot-shot, who has six goals to his name already this term, is now fully fit again and raring to go, and has that 20-goal mark in his sights. Le Fondre said: "I set myself targets all the time, and ideally Iéd like to get 20 goals this season.

"If I can maybe get up around the 15 mark by January, then maybe I can push on even further and get more than 20, but 20 is the target at the moment."

Opposition defenders may be shuddering at the thought of facing the confident young striker now, he is in excellent form and thankfully has fully recovered from his recent injury in double quick time.

Le Fondre opened last month with a belter in the 2-0 win over Barnet, but ended it being stretchered off at Rochdale in the 3-1 win there.

The Offerton-based striker said: "When I went off at Rochdale I feared that I may have broken something, but my injury was assessed and it was a relief that my ankle just swelled up. I came on as a sub against Lincoln and felt fine, and on Monday I resumed full training.

"Iém looking forward to the FA Cup game at Exeter now. They are going well in the Conference, but if we carry on playing like we have been doing then weéll be okay. Weéve found our confidence now.

"We can get promoted too if we keep playing like we are doing. We absolutely battered Lincoln on Saturday. We showed that we can turn top teams like that over."

Le Fondre enjoyed a warm reception from the fans when picking up his award on Saturday, and that meant a lot.

"I have got a really good relationship going with the County fans," added Le Fondre. "Ités improved over the last six or eight months, since our run-in towards the end of last season really.

"I just want that to continue, the County fans have been brilliant again this season."
