IT was another frustrating afternoon for Jim Gannon on Saturday as his side once again failed to turn good spells of possession into clear goalscoring opportunities.
It was always going to be a tough call for the Hatters away at League Two leaders Swindon, but the visitors competed well throughout large chunks of the 90 minutes, only to be undone by goals from Aaron Brown just before half-time and Christian Roberts just beyond the hour-mark.
Gannon said: "There were long periods of the game where we were the better side.
"There were times when we had the ball in a good crossing position, but perhaps didnét deliver.
"We were sometimes lacking the quality to get a goal, but I canét fault the players for effort."
Swindon boss Dennis Wise - the former Wimbledon, Chelsea and England star - was keen to play down his sideés impressive start to the season after they beat County at the County Ground.
The Robins made it five victories out of five, to mark their best start to a league campaign for 43 years, but Wise was quick to temper Townés achievements as they continue to set the pace in League Two.
"Ités very nice, weéve got to keep on doing what weére doing and not take our foot off the pedal," said Wise.
"Weére going to get some bad luck at some stage and Iém waiting for our reaction after that.
"Iém pleased with the clean sheet, I didnét think they had too much to be honest, but we coped with it well.
"Iém pleased with everything, the chances weére creating and the way the way the whole of the team are working together and they know what theyéve got to do."
Countyés two points mean they still avoid the bottom spot in League Two after Bury and Rochdale finally got themselves off the mark on Saturday.
Neighbours Macclesfield currently prop up the table after a Jermaine Easter-inspired Wycombe won 2-0 at the Moss Rose at the weekend.
