COUNTY fans received national acclaim last season when they unfurled the biggest scarf in football before the televised game against Barnet.
Next season, thanks to the generosity of Bob Smith-Bewley from RESB Limited, the éScarf My Father Woreé will be joined by a 10m x 6m flag when the new campaign gets under way on August 5 with the visit of newly-promoted Hereford United.
Smith-Bewley, who was on hand this week to accept delivery of the huge flag when it arrived at Edgeley Park from the manufacturers, Scottish-based Hi-Fli Banners & Flags, said: "The County fans really stuck by the team throughout a really difficult season and I thought they deserved something back for their amazing loyalty. I think the flag looks great with the new crest and Iém sure it will only enhance the Cheadle End experience."
County commercial manager Martin Booker added: "Apart from being an important sponsor, Bob is also a real County fanatic.
"Purchasing this huge banner for the Cheadle End is a tremendous gesture and everyone at the club really appreciates his generosity."
