Stockport County

Book those 06/07 seats

COUNTY have now announced their season ticket prices for the 2006/07 season.

Ités the first opportunity the club has had to sit back and analyse where they think prices should be, and in doing so theyéve taken decisions which are fair, transparent and with the football clubés future in mind.

County have to be pragmatic. Great headlines from huge drops in prices are all very well, but the need to give manager Jim Gannon the tools to do the job is paramount, along with a budget which will allow the club to compete. So while there are reductions, they are sensible and strategic.

The Board of Directors have spoken to Gannon about the budget, and the best thing about the new ownership is that every single penny goes back into the club, and any surplus income available can be used to strengthen the playing squad.

County are planning on mounting a real challenge for promotion next season and Gannonés record to keep County in League Two has been astonishing when you bear in mind where the club was at the turn of the year.

With a good pre-season to come and the opportunity for proper forward planning, then there is no telling where the Hatters might get to next season.

County officials believe the ticket prices (see this week's Express) represent value for money, which again underlines their commitment to the community.
