‘Target 100,000’ - it’s up to YOU!

THE Stockport Express is today getting right behind Stockport County FC and its campaign aimed at attracting 100,000 supporters through the Edgeley Park turnstiles before the end of the 2005/06 season.

The ‘Target 100,000’ campaign gets under way in earnest this weekend when the Hatters, who really are in need of YOUR support for the ongoing League Two battle, welcome Leyton Orient in what is the seventh game so far of a scheduled 23-game home season.

So far the first six home games (including one Carling Cup tie) have brought in 24,478 through the gates, roughly a quarter of the way towards the target with three-quarters of the 2005/06 home games remaining.

It is an achievable target, especially following some of the excellent ticket initiatives which County announced in the Express last week.

But achieving the goal is ultimately down to YOU, the people of Stockport (and in many cases the owners of Stockport County following the Supporters Trust takeover), we’re urging you to book your match tickets today.
