COUNTY are also backing a new Football League initiative which aims to give young supporters throughout England and Wales the opportunity to begin a lifelong passion for their local club.
The ‘Fans of the Future’ campaign will see clubs from across the Football League offer a range of innovative ticketing initiatives for young supporters in order to encourage the next generation to watch live football at their local League club.
County are participating in the campaign by offering under-sevens free season tickets as well as undertaking schemes to provide schools and junior football clubs with discounted tickets.
County boss Chris Turner said: “Stockport County, a club owned by its fans, is committed to attracting young fans who live or are educated in the local community.
“We believe it is vital that young fans who live in Stockport are encouraged to support their local club as they are the next generation who will enjoy the Edgeley Park experience and ensure that the club has a long-term future.
“The club has recently introduced the County Cubs scheme which provides free County season tickets, free entry to the County family lounge and other benefits to children under seven at the start of the season.
“Children can join the scheme at any time during the season and we already have over 100 County Cubs.”

“They are helping themselves by helping young people to enjoy football locally.”
