STOCKPORT County Supporters Trust and Cheshire Sport were burning the midnight oil last night to finalise the fans' takeover of the club.

Negotiating teams from both sides have been working around the clock to make certain the deal can go ahead before the end of the week.

Trust chairman Norman Beverley said: "Our lawyers have spent a tremendous amount of time talking to Cheshire Sport's lawyers.

"At this stage we have to make certain everything is watertight before we can sign on the dotted line." Tweet
