RELEGATION to League Two means that Stockport County fans will be travelling around 175 miles more to away grounds next season than they did in 2004/05.
Some fans may have thought that the introduction of local rivals Macclesfield Town, Rochdale and Bury might have reduced the total amount for next season.
But in League One, the Hatters had eight journeys with round trip totals of less than 100 miles whereas League Two only offers four.
Travelling time behind the steering wheel will increase by nearly six hours as the motorway network doesn't provide easy access to all the grounds in England's basement division.
The long trek to Torquay United is on the agenda once again following their relegation, and there are also lengthy trips to Wycombe Wanderers, Barnet and Leyton Orient as well.
