Relegation may seem inevitable, and has for a long time now, but Turner is determined not to waste the opportunity of getting his new-look side up and running.
Two wins in the three games before yesterday's trip to Milton Keynes Dons have restored some pride to a side still rooted at the bottom of League One.
"There has been a massive improvement lately, but I would hate the season to end like a damp squib," said Turner.
"It's all about players and I feel if we had the 11 or 12 who started in the last three games playing week-in and week-out we'd have been OK in this division.
"I'm not saying it could have been a promotion-winning side but those players can certainly handle themselves at this level.
"But we can't afford any more injuries right now. It's only a small squad. We've done well lately and we want to keep it going for as long as possible to build up confidence."
The return from injury of Warren Feeney - who scored in each of the games against Oldham, Chesterfield and Hartlepool - John Hardiker, Mark Robertson and Keith Briggs have brought about a big change in County's performances.
"These are all quality players who've made a massive difference," added Turner, who has been impressed by Briggs and Robertson in midfield.
"They are both experienced players at a higher level and they've formed a good partnership. These are exactly the type of players we're trying to bring in to build a team," he said.
County have been looking a look at West Ham striker Greg Pearson and West Brom mid-fielder Zeke Tomlinson this past week.
"They both have good pedigrees so we're having a closer look," said Turner.
"We're always on the lookout for new talent at Stockport County."

We have turned the corner, no doubt about that , can we just get off the bottom !
some good players with us at the moment if they stay we should have fun next season if it all stays together
There was no Pride and certainly no bright side at MK on saturday, one of the worst displays I have seen in nearly 40 years.
