Gannon has brought striker Danny Rowe to Edgeley Park after agreeing an initial one-moth loan deal with Fleetwood Town - a move made possible after supporters group Help the Hatters stumped up the money to cover his wages.
And Gannon, who led County to their first win of his second spell in charge with victory over Barrow on Saturday, admitted he was grateful for the helping hand.
He said: “The club really appreciates that supporters have provided additional finance which has gone directly into funding the signing of an exciting player.”
Gannon, who is also director of football, revealed he would be forced to cut the wage bill after stepping back into the hot-seat following Dietmar Hamann’s dismissal.
But he is also keen to add to his squad as he looks to guide County away from the Blue Square Bet Premier relegation places.
To help him do that, Help the Hatters chairman John Fitzpatrick, who raised the money by organising car boot sales and selling old kit, has urged supporters to follow their example and pitch in.
“As a group of supporters, we are able to provide additional funding to the club,” he said.
“I urge local businesses who are in a position to help, to consider providing funds to the club. I am more than happy for people to call me to discuss how we can help bring further good young players to Stockport County.”
A County spokesman added: “The signing of Danny has been funded by Help the Hatters, who have provided the funds to enable us to add to our squad." Tweet

It will take more than a few quid to sort this out i fear ,Gannon needs at least 6 players ,would that be a conservative number? to have any chance of survival it may all be a bridge to far ,i hope not, but the odds are all against a turn around ,the rot may well have set in with another drop on the cards
I've got it sussed, we're gonna sign 9 more Danny Rowes and confuse the bejabers out of everybody (Note, don't do drugs before going County, even though in recent seasons it has been a nailed on necessity!)
looking at it so far, you,ll have a big derby with Cheadle soon.
