Stockport County

AFC Telford 1 Stockport County 1

A spectacular strike from Antonio German secured yet another 1-1 draw for the Hatters.

After a largely forgettable first half it was Telford who took the lead three minutes after the restart through Sean Newton‘s penalty, after Andy Halls was adjudged to have brought down Andy Brown.

But Telford had the lead for just three minutes as the former QPR wonderkid scored a wonder goal to bring County level.

The 19-year-old had struggled to make an impact during the first half, but he let fly from outside the box with a stunning strike after drifting past veteran defender Stuart Whitehead.

Keeper Matt Glennon ensured that County went back to Cheshire with a point after he pulled off an incredible save four minutes from time to deny Craig Farrell.

And Didi Hamann's Hatters almost snatched victory in the dying seconds as Sean McConville let fly from a seemingly impossible angle, but his shot flashed over the bar.

County have now played eight games in the Blue Square Premier - and six of them have ended in a 1-1 draw.

Off the pitch, Tony Evans will be named as County’s majority stakeholder on Monday morning with the shareholders due to accept his offer to invest in the club.

Once again we failed to score more than one goal in a match but at least we seemed to have sorted out the defence, but up front we are very lightweight. Surely with Didi's connections he could find a decent striker somewhere, even if he's an old experienced head, coming to the end of his career, he'll do for 1 season if he can net 20/30 goals. With the imminent take over by Tony Evans, I hope at last the Pilkington money will be spent, before we get too far behind the leaders.

Looks like Tony Evans is pulling out

I wonder how much the turmoil off the field is causing problems on it

If it ever goes through I predict those draws will turn to wins. Hope its not too late

Well it seems Mr Evans has gone, where does this leave us now ? Will the manager go also, seeing that Mr Evans brought him in ? Things are not going as well for Didi as he expected so we'll see what kind of manager he is now, will he stay and fight or will he think i've had enough as well ? Once again, the loyal supporters have another false dawn, we keep getting kicked while we're down, when are things going to get better ? To find ourselves in this league, below, with respect, teams like Gateshead and Braintree ? just shows how far we have fallen and to have not scored 2 goals against any team yet, well, I could go on and on, but i'm just getting more depressed by the minute ! I didn't win the Euromillions last night so it will be at least a week before I can make a takeover bid.

Why do you keep asking for comments when you won't print them ? I've had at least 10 posts rejected for no apparent reason, have you got something against County ? Is there anybody there ? Occasionally, I post on the Bury Times site and within 30 seconds it's there, on screen. The only time I get anything on view here, is when I go on the MEN site, get your act together at the Express or i'm just going to totally ignore you

What has gone wrong at the Express ? they are not printing any comments. i've had about 10 comments ignored, as i'm sure have many people. To have only 1 comment (mine) on County's last game, makes it look like the supporters have given up, I know that's not the case, reading other sites, we are still as passionate as ever, even though things seem to be going from bad to worse. So come on, you in the office, sort it out !

22 posts and most of it dross. Once again, can I appeal to those who genuinely have County's best interests at heart to recognise the losers who post here and ignore them? If you retaliate you only encourage them. Those who support Man U and Man City from the "synthetic premiership" have nothing to contribute here. Why (in the case of Man U) you would want to support a team that has never received the red and yellow cards they deserve and so has never won anything fairly is beyond me, but each to their own......... Back to County. Fed up of waiting for a review of the Grimsby game so I'll post here. I thought Grimsby were poor compared the other two teams (Kettering and Mansfield) that I've seen at EP this season. County were professional and whilst it was great to see us finally score more than one goal I felt we weren't as fluent in our passing and actually were poor in defence at times: But for poor finishing / Glennon's saves we could have conceded 2 or 3 from their attackers being in one-on-one situations. But overall I am very happy with the professionalism and commitment over a full 90 minutes that County are displaying. Stabilisation in the form of a mid-table finish will do me and there is always the chance of pushing for a play-off place as the players start to gel together.

They're all out tonight! We only need Ferrari and Mr. McDour from Bury for a full set. Where are the stiff white jackets?
