TWO goals inside five second half minutes condemned Stockport County to their ninth home defeat of the season as league leaders Hull City put a halt to the Hatters' recent mini-revival.
Former County favourite Aaron Wilbraham drilled in his second goal in two games for the visitors before Danny Adams blasted in a superb equaliser in front of the Cheadle End.
And the game appeared to swing County's at the beginning of the second half when Neil Cutler beat away Michael Keane's spot-kick.
But Jason Price and Danny Allsopp scored shortly after the hour mark to seal a 3-1 win.
And after the game County boss Chris Turner laid the blame for the defeat firmly at the feet of his defence.
"The trademark of why we're bottom of the league was highlighted today, we gave three poor goals away and that's been the case all season and we've got to try and strengthen up on that," he said.
Wilbraham profitted from some of that poor defending on nine minutes when he fired home from an acute angle after County had failed to clear their lines.
But after 23 minutes the Hatters were level when Adams collected a long ball from Michael Raynes, broke into the Hull danger area and drove the ball past Cutler.
Hull contiuned to display the better football but County were always a threat in front of goal with Ashley Williams unlucky not to find the target after connecting with a Damian Allen cross.
At the other end, Allsopp and Roland Edge wasted good opportunities to restore the Tigers' lead.
Seconds after the break Hull were awarded a penalty when Neil Cutler was penalised for tigging on Leon Cort's shirt as Hull took a corner - but Michael Keane's kick was beaten away by the County keeper.
The action immediately switched to the other end where Warren Feeney's shot struck the inside of the post and bounced away to safety.
"The penalty kick decision ended up going our way with a tremendous save by Neil Cutler and then Warren Feeney hit the post on the inside that sums you're luck up when you're down at the bottom of the league," said Turner after the game.
Four minutes later Hull took the lead after a superb move begun by Ian Ashbee deep inside his own half - ended with Price looping his header over Cutler. And any hopes of a comeback ended on 65 minutes when a slip by Michael Raynes handed Allsopp City's third goal.
