STOCKPORT County owners Cheshire Sport are considering asking for a helping hand on the coaching side from Sale Sharks.
County are four points adrift at the bottom of League One, but there is no question of boss Sammy McIlroy getting the chop.
Chief executive Niels de Vos said: "We're very disappointed with the performances, as all the fans are. Bringing in additional help will be discussed.
"We've started already by bringing in Joe Corrigan to help the goalkeepers, but may well decide to bring in other people in other areas."
Owner Brian Keenedy has given his full backing to McIlroy, who he appointed as manager last October.
Mr Kennedy's approach is not to employ a manager and then get rid at the first sign of trouble though.
But something does need to change, whether that's on the playing side or through additional help with the coaching - or even some fitness help from the rugby staff.
"We'll be trying whatever we can. It isn't happening on the pitch and were as upset as anyone. We've got to try to get things sorted out."
- COUNTY'S Under-18s recorded a magnificent 7-0 victory at Chester-le-Street Town in the FA Youth Cup first round on Monday night.
Craig Madden's young Hatters beat a side that reached the fourth round last season, beating Derby County 2-1 at Pride Park along the way before narrowly losing out to West Ham United at Upton Park.
Michael Raynes gave County the lead inside the first minute, before goals from Paul Douglas, Paul Pearson and Adam Le Fondre made it 4-0 after just 28 minutes.
The rout continued after the interval, as Ben Henry fired in a fifth goal on 47 minutes, before Le Fondre and Douglas both scored their second goals of the evening on 70 and 83 minutes.
Unfortunately, Jamie Kay suffered a suspected broken leg during the victory.
County will face Walsall at Lambeth Grove on Monday, November 22, in the second round of the competition.

IT DON'T SHINE in these parts!
Can't agree Joe, we need both clubs to do well, we are an item now and success will bring success, I can understand my fellow hatters being upset, but things will improve.
I agree with Serge - the two clubs are together and the need is for County to move forward. Lets hope that after last Saturday the season can start from now. Most of us would have expected such a result at home in first match against newly promoted play off club - especially on the form showed at end of last season. A good result against another promoted club this Saturday and it might be the start of a journey up the table - but will not be holding my breath!!!!!!!
No the club has now had in over B#200k from 3 players
NDV Has gone very quiet again , off in his little cuboard counting the cash! all to be spent on Sharks, its a one way ticket, prove me wrong buy Andy Smith and I'll go quietly
Yall!
