Stockport County

Daly seeing red

GRIMSBY Town are considering an appeal against County loan striker Jon Daly's sending-off on Saturday.

Daly was sent off just before half-time for what looked like an elbow on Scunthorpe United's Ian Baraclough, but after reviewing the match video, Russell Slade is considering an appeal.

"I've seen the video," Mariners boss Slade said. "I saw nothing. There wasn't any contact."

Mr Miller, Saturday's referee during Grimsby's 2-0 defeat, says that he sent Daly off for violent conduct after he raised his hands.

"I am disappointed for our fans. It was a passionate affair, but a couple of decisions went against us," Slade added. Daly has now started three times for Grimsby during his loan spell, scoring once.

Meanwhile, Bury boss Graham Barrow has not given up on taking striker Daly to Gigg Lane.

Barrow is a fan of the 21-year-old Irishman, who had a spell at Bury last season, and has not ruled out a move for Daly in the future.

He said: "He would be an absolute dream player for us."
