County ended a run of three defeats with a convincing 5-0 win over Tooting and Mitcham in the FA Cup first round, and Raynes said was confident the result would trigger a run of positive results in the league.
"After playing so well against Tooting, the Walsall game is definitely one that we think we can take points from," said Raynes.
"I think a lot of people saw the Tooting game as a bit of banana skin for us because of the run of form we were in, but to win in the manner that we did, took the pressure off a little bit.
"Tooting weren't a bad side and it was a good result so we're hoping it will help turn our season around.
"I don't think we've been playing that badly but I don't think we've been getting the rub of the green," added Raynes.
"We've made individual errors that have been punished, but if we can cut those out and play as well as we did against Norwich and Tooting we'll win more games than we lose.
"We need to start putting a run of form together and putting points on the board if we are going to survive in this league."
County will be without Raynes' regular central defensive partner for Saturday's trip to the Banks's Stadium after loan signing Paul Huntington returned to Leeds United.
It is thought Huntington has gone back to Leeds after they received interest from another unnamed club.
There are also injury doubts over Nicholas Bignall (hamstring), James Vincent (illness) and David Poole (dead leg) but all three are expected to train today and should be available to face the Saddlers.
The Hatters have not scored in their last four trips to Walsall - their last win coming in October 1999 courtesy of a Tony Dinning brace.
Walsall - who sit 12th in League One - have only lost once at home in the league this season - a 2-1 defeat to Leeds in August.
