It was revealed this week that County still owe £450,000 to the Inland Revenue, despite selling Anthony Pilkington and Jimmy McNulty in last month's transfer window.
Gannon has been working alongside the County board in trying to find a way to meet the debt.
But he also believes the players can give a lift to worried supporters with their actions on the pitch, starting with victory over fellow play-off contenders Millwall at Edgeley Park.
"The financial situation is not new to us," said Gannon. "It's been revealed to the fans but we were aware of this information privately since December. So we've adapted to that in our mentality already.
"Any emotional issues we might have had were dealt with over the Christmas and New Year period.
"We've recovered ourselves and got back to being very professional. The debts make difficult reading and it's difficult to listen to such problems arising for the club. All we can do is be part of the solution.
"We have to work really hard to make sure we get the results and continue to keep the club healthy on the football side."
The visit of Kenny Jackett's Millwall begins a run of five games in 15 days that could expose Gannon's small squad. But he prefers to see it as a chance to prove County can still be play-off contenders.
"Millwall are a strong powerful side. They'll come looking to get a result," added Gannon. "It's going to be a real test for us. But it's also a chance for us to step up and say we still want to be contenders."
At least County begin their intense run of games with a fit squad apart from long-term injuries Carl Baker and Peter Thompson.
"Unlike Christmas and Easter the games are spread out so there's a time for recovery and a time for preparation," said Gannon.
"There is room for manoeuvre, but my first concern would be to play my best-structured team and keep that team together."

I really do hope Jims team can help lift the gloom from EP with a win tomorrow. My heart says a 2-0 win but my head says a 1-1 draw.
