Date of Birth: 23/01/1989
Turnbull became the youngest ever player to make a Football League appearance for County when, aged just 16, he came on as a substitute against Wrexham in the penultimate match of the 2004-05 season. The fact that he had only made his youth team debut in November 2004 shows just how quickly he progressed through the ranks at Edgeley Park, and afer joining County as an eleven-year-old Turnbull holds the unique record of being the only player to represent the club's youth, reserve and first teams while still at school. Having joined the club as a striker, Turnbull remoulded himself into a central midfielder after a broken leg kept him out of action for almost a year. He went out on loan to Altrincham in 2007-08, and in just six games made such an impression that he was recalled and started all three of County's successful play-off games and is now a regular member of Jim Gannon's first-team squad.
