Stockport County

Dominic Blizzard (Midfielder)

Date of Birth: 02/09/1984

Former Watford midfielder Blizzard joined County as a free-agent in August 2007 following on from a loan-spell at Edgeley Park during the famous nine-in-a-row winning streak in 2006-07. Blizzard's career began brightly with a goal on his debut for Watford against Norwich in April 2004 and his impressive displays earned him a permanent place in the Watford senior squad throughout the club's promotion-winning season of 2004-05. Under Adrian Boothroyd, Blizzard established himself as a first-team regular for the Hornets in the Premier League at the beginning of the 2005-06 season, but his promising top-flight career was curtailed when he was cruelly struck down with a debilitating illness caused by the Epstein Barr virus. Blizzard never made another first-team appearance at Vicarage Road. Despite persistent injury troubles throughout 2007-08, when fit, Blizzard was an important member of County's successful promotion campaign. Having played at the very highest level, Blizzard's experience and class make him an invaluable asset to the squad at Edgeley Park.
