I hate to say it but, much like the two goals let in right after scoring against MK Dons, good teams do not allow goals early or late in the half either. All three goals suggest less than 100% focus mentally. It's becoming a worrying habit and I'm happy that we have two games left to get it sorted because I would not want to go into the playoffs leaking goals at crucial times of games. Get it sorted Jimbo please, two clean sheets to finish the season would be nice, two wins as well would be gravy.
Reaching the playoffs is nice and it is further progress but it would be a crying shame to get less out of this season than we deserve and we haven't won anything yet.
I dearly hope we stuff Chester for other reasons too. Their refusal to make the first game all ticket when it was obvious it would be a close to capacity crowd for them and their limiting of vouchers for County fans in the replay, inferring that there were many less County fans at the first game than the facts suggest, just screams out that there's fiddling going on.
I wouldn't wish it on any team but if I was the taxman, I'ld be more than a little curious about their reported crowd sizes and gate monies declared.
Anyway, back to our business and the most important reason for County to do well in the next two games is to get ready for the playoffs.

This should not be a end for county, we are in the play-offs with the prospect of a day out in wembley, so if anything its the best possible outcome for the club and our finances, There are a few ghosts to be laid have lost 4 times at the old twin towers. This will be county's time, so lets see a few key players rested giving the fringe players the chance to prove what they can do in the last 2 games. Proudlock, Tansey, Logan, Tunnicliffe, Poole, Griffin and Turnbull can stake a claim for the play-offs and next season, so give a few youngsters a well deserved rest.

Slightly off topic, I read that there are Brentford supporters walking all the way from Brentford to EP for County's home game against them. I think I'm not wrong in believing that County fans will show what being a real footie fan means by giving them a hero's welcome and supporting them in their efforts for their club as others have supported us.
Incidentally, best wishes to Rotherham fans too in their struggles. Whether some haters want to believe it or not, we are all in this together. Even the biggest of clubs aren't immune to the kind of crap being pulled by Rotherham's owners for one example or previous owners of County of course for more examples.

This was a disappointment, although we had the chances to get something from the game overall many of the players looked tired and lethargic. If we get the point we need to guarantee a home game in the second leg of the p/offs on Tuesday I would rest the likes of Dicko, Blizzard and Dicker. Personally I would like to avoid Wycombe but a County v Dale final would be good. We really need to get out of this league as we'd be playing more of our Southern bogey teams next season ie Aldershot, Torquay, Bournemouth (poss). Come on County.

Whatever happens now this season has been a success. Another massive step forward for the club. A second leg at EP in my opinion would be no advantage given the state of the pitch. Best to go hell for leather on a decent surface. Wembley is no formality. Good time to give some of the young lads a well deserved two week holiday and bring them back refreshed and focused for the job ahead.

Well done to Mk Dons, Posh + Hereford, they have been up there all season, gutted we didnt quite make it automatic tho, if back in October some one had said we would be challenging for 3rd + have a guaranteed play off place many wouldnt have believed it!! Well done to Jim + the lads for turning it around and giving us a great season, but lets not end on a wimper lets get to Wembley and end on a bang. As regard to the state of the pitch, i agree its dire but as we play on it every other week we should try + use it to our advantage. The players do look tired + resting them for the next 2 games would be best.
