STOCKPORT County made it three league wins on the trot thanks to first-half goals from Anthony Elding and Liam Dickinson.
Things didn't start well for Jim Gannon's side when Stephen Hunt headed home Neil Mackenzie's inswinging corner after just six minutes.
AndĀ matters didn't improve when skipper Gaz Owen came off with a pulled hamstring.
But Elding equalised in the 13th minute when he struck from inside the penalty area with a right-footed shot after Dickinson's knock-down for his third goal in as many games.
Dickinson should have had a penalty when he was pulled back by Guy Branston.
But the striker's luck changed in the 34th minute when he gave County the lead, deflecting Anthony Pilkington's cross in off his face for his tenth goal of the season.
A reorganised Notts County edged the second half, but despite Felix Bastians and Mackenzie both hitting the woodwork Stockport held on.
What is your verdict on the game? Have your say.

Sounded like a game of two halves but all credit to the lads. They knew the other County were going to come hard in the 2nd half and they bent but did not break.
Huge credit to Jimbo and Wardy too as they now have one of, if not the form team in the division having strung together 5 wins and only one loss in their last seven games.
If the Cheadle End is the 12th man then Mo (as in momentum) is an equally important player. Keep it going boys,

Excellent win considering our very poor record over the years there. A chalk and cheese performance from the lads, superb first half and poorish in the second half where the defence performed heroics as well as riding our luck at times. It didn't take Notts long to realise that they've signed a donkey in Branston. Grimsby next in the Mickey Mouse, should be a good game as they too have strung together some good results lately.
County should have had the game wrapped up by half time, and Notts should have been down to 10 men as Branson should have been sent off for his foul on Dockinson (also should have been a pen.) All this did not distract from a great performance in spite of loosing the captain Owen with the score 1 - 0 to Notts. Next up Grimsby in the Johnsons paints cup and the possibility of getting a return to Wembley again.
Dockinson?
is that a new signing? :-d
I a bit torn over a possible Wembley appearance. I want the team to do well but, though I'ld love a trip to the new Wembley, I don't think I can afford a trip over in 2008 having been over in 2007.
:-(
Well Brown person - you are spared the decision because the usual inconsistency at E P has saved you a long trip.
