The County boss was very unhappy with the way his side performed at Rochdale in midweek, despite them leaving Spotland with three vital points.
And Gannon is expecting far better against the Ryman League Premier Division side, who are expected to bring 500 fans to Edgeley Park.
"As a manager you have to think long and hard about the performance and the roles of players," said Gannon.
"This has been a tough week and we've had to work really hard. That's why I left the lads alone at the end of the Rochdale game.
"Let them enjoy their moment and it gives them the confidence to play.
"But they have to perform better than that if we are going to keep getting results."
County will be without skipper Ashley Williams and Dominic Blizzard, are both out for six weeks, while Jamie Smith has returned to Liverpool at the end of his loan spell.
Matty McNeil is expected to continue alongside Gareth Owen in central defence.
Top scorer Anthony Elding will have to convince Gannon of his commitment after being substituted at Rochdale.

Good news we have signed a midfield player? on loan from PNE.
hope he's a plane spotter watchin the ball fly over is head all day.
Up the County!!!!
"plane spotter" LOL!
Nice one, certainly shows the sense of humour you have to have to follow a Stockport County, (or a Bury, Crewe, Rochdale, etc).
Just been to the official site to check up on the new midfielder. Got to say he sounds an intelligent footballer, just hope his body can carry out the instructions his brain gives him. Fingers crossed he isn't rusty from lack of first team footie at Preston and can make an immediate impact in our midfield.
Come on County...............
