Ellison fitness boost

KEVIN Ellison is set to win his fitness battle for tomorrow night's (Wednesday) FA Cup clash with Bolton Wanderers.

The striker came off after 70 minutes against Crystal Palace on Sunday with a suspected fracture in his hand - an injury which would have made him doubtful for the clash.

But an x-ray has alleviated those fears and so the former Leicester City player should continue his fledgling partnership with John Daly.

However there is worse news for Palmer as three key players are set to miss out.

Trio miss out

Dave Challinor was signed from Stoke after the registration date for third round clashes, while Leicester City have refused permission for Damien Delaney to play.

Luke Beckett will also miss out having already played in the cup for Chesterfield.

The Edgeley Park clash is likely to come as a welcome break for the Hatters as it gives them a chance to forget about their dismal league form. They have lost their last 10 matches, a club record, and are 15 points adrift at the bottom of the table.
