Connor set for starting place?

ROCHDALE caretaker manager David Hamilton could give striker Paul Connor an unexpected comeback at home to Lincoln tomorrow, according to reports.

The promising 22-year-old, who heralds from Bishop Auckland, joined Dale in March of this year and has already scored 11 goals in just 22 league appearances.

He got his first taste of competitive action on Wednesday when Dale beat Darlington 1-0.

But after not making a starting appearance for the side in ten matches due to a long-term injury, he is chomping at the bit to get back into the thick of the action.

Smith has played his football for Middlesborough, Stoke City and Cambridge United.
