Kasper sad to leave Shakers

KASPER Schmeichel has returned to City after revealing his regret that his final spell at Bury has ended.

The 'keeper, son of former United legend Peter, became a folk hero at Gigg Lane after a string of loans with the League Two club.

But Bury cannot keep the gifted Dane any more after his final spell expired following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Swindon Town.

"I'm very disappointed to be going," Kasper told M.E.N. Sport. "I've been enjoying playing regular first-team football at a place where I really like being.

"It's a bit of a kick in the teeth, but what can you do? The rules say I have to go back now."

Those sentiments are echoed by Bury boss Chris Casper, who admits that the popular 20-year-old will be missed.

"Kasper hasn't let us down once; he's been fantastic, and I'd like to say thanks," said Casper.

"He's got passion, belief in himself and tremendous skill and technique.

"But we had to deal with the situation and I think we have done very well in getting Andy Warrington in.

"It's a really good move for us. He has good experience, good quality and we can play him in the FA Cup."

Do you think Kasper has the quality to become a top-flight goalkeeper? Have your say.

Watched him a few time at Bury and he seems a fine goallie to me. It will be interesting to see how he and Hart will challenge eachother for the no 1 spot in a couple of years.

This lad is nowhere near good enough for the top filght, he seems to strangely lack a bit in stature too. Sentiment does not work in football. Sell him to Bury if he wants to be there so much. Does anyone think that by implication, the 'at a place i really enjoy being', is a sideways swipe at City.

i have seen kaspar a good number of times now and think he is a very good goalkeeper. Certainly the best at Bury since Kenny. he has kept a very average team in many many games. outstanding at Notts County and Rochdale this year, were he made two top drawer saves and never bottled it under pressure. I do not agree he is living off his father's reputation as he has proven otherwise to me.
