The Rebels took an early lead through Dave Swarbrick and after going 2-1 down hit back to level through Rob Nugent.
Defender Nugent then put through his own goal but FC forged ahead again through a Rory Patterson penalty and Simon Carden before a late leveller from the world's biggest non-league club. Tweet

FCUM were a credit to non league football in Germany.
From their performance on the pitch to their behaviour off it-first class.
4-4 in our first ever Euro away! Great end to a great season. Thanks to Karl and all the players and especially Andy and all the board. Can't wait for next season.
Sounds like a really good and entertaining game to shut the curtain on what has been a fine season!
just back from fantastic 3 day trip really good. i could not convey how great it felt to witness the first of the fc utd goals in europe which sent the away following of around 450,500 reds crazy. atmosphere from the 7,5oo attendance was superb flares,banners,90 mins of singing from both sets of fans made for a memorable night and a historic occasion in fc utd's historic first season. felt great to be stood on a big old terrace basking in the sunshine alongside other fcum fans atogether. cant wait for later in the year to reciprocate the overwhelming fantastic reception we were given by the lokomotiv leipzig fans. toddy
For our first real Euro away, there was a bit of the usual pre and post match sight seeing. I would call Leipzig a traditional German City because it has not been over developed and so retains a charactr that wouldnt look out of place in an old 1920s style movie. The public transport is similar to Manchester with all major routes linked by Tram ways. We took the number 15 to the Stadium mid-afternoon and familiarized ourselves with the area. The Stadium was as odd affair. From the visitors side, the only thing to suggest this was a Stadium was the four blue poled floodlights. The rest was just a stone retaining flanked by earth works embankments which looked more like a Mediaeval Castle than a football ground. Reading the match programme, I found out that this was the second international the new look 1 FC Lok had played, the other being against a club from Bilbao. So, perhaps a trip to Spain on the cards next! The decline of the first FC Lok club is a sad story. The demise was brought about by a combination of factors. Firstly, German unification. A lot of clubs such as FC Lok based in the former East Germany were unable to compete with their counterparts in the more affluent West. The best players moved for better wages and the fans who still earned less than their cousins in the west couldnt keep up with the constant price hikes. Secondly, the club got heavy into debt through crass management and the whole conspired to cause a club witch represented a major European city went bust. Going into the game I half expected FC Lok to be runaway winners, but as the game progressed, it became obvious we were the better side. Our now well known defensive frailties proved to be our undoing and I think it is something Karl will have to address for next year. I think we all like to watch fast attacking football, but great teams can also be built on defence and at 3-4 up we should have taken a win. Leaving the Stadium, I spoke with an FC Lok fan on the Tram back to the main station who said he was impressed with the FC United players and said that FC Lok were lucky to get a draw. Still, it is valuable experience for our players and I will look forward to seeing FC Lok again when they come to Gigg Lane in September for a return friendly. Viva la revolution, come on FC.
What a trip! and a great performance by the team.
well what a trip,a great performance from our team ,whom i thought would have been out of their depth, but no in fact we could have won.Fantastic display of goodwill by the leipzig fans and a great trip was had by well over 400 reds.Cant wait for the next euro. The trip ranked alongside the top 3 of the 50 or so i have been on with mufc

Next up, ALLSTARS v. FC UNITED. Game for a laugh! Heres one just announced to help beat the closed season blues. FC United are set to play in another benefit match later this month against a team of celebrities and ex-professionals to help raise money for 21-year-old Salfordian Chris McGuirk. Chris has been paralysed from the neck downwards since dislocating two vertebrate in a freak accident whilst playing for Salfords De La Salle RUFC in December 2005. So far Chris has received a tremendous amount of support from doctors, nurses and physiotherapists but when he finally leaves hospital he will need specialist accommodation as well as specialist equipment and care to give him the opportunity to make the most of a very restricted life. A number of well known local people have already pledged support for Chris including Ryan Giggs, Phil Bardsley, Rugby League legend Adrian Morley, British light middleweight champion Jamie Moore and actor Will Mellor. The match will kick off at 2pm on Bank Holiday Monday 29 May at De La Salle RUFC. Expect a few surprises on the day as a number of ex-pros have pledged to turn up as well as actors from soaps including Coronation Street, Holby City, Hollyoaks and Where The Heart Is. Visit www.chrismcguirk.net for other information. De La Salle RUFC Address: Lancaster Road, Salford. Lancashire. M6 8FX. Tel. Number: 0161-789-2261. Biggest this biggest that. ChelsFCski United of Bury.
From a club that didn't exist to the Worlds second biggest non league club in twelve crazy hazy days of summer months. Well if Gretna can almost win the Scottish cup with their modest resources who to say that FC can't do it with theirs. Does anyone know what round FC joing the FA Cup next season? With our following it should be at least the First Round.
In reply to Newton Heath Wheeltappers and Shunters club Manchester. Im not sure what round step 5 clubs start the FA cup in, but I do know we cant apply until season 2007/2008. We have to have played a year in the FA Vase first and our club did not exist in time to apply for FA Vase entry last pre-season. We voted for FA Vase entry for this season at the GM so we can play in the FA cup the season after.
As former football player for German non league club FC Doppeldeingelt I go to see your FC from Bury team play Leipzig. The Leipzig team is young yes and experimenting team but good game for all and FC fans very gay peoples.
Just Massive.
Wow, FC Nobodies drew with.....who?
Fickle supporters supporting a fad!
You support a club, not the owners by the way for any team!
