LONDON lad Jimmy Bullard eagerly awaits tonight's clash with Fulham and is refusing to rule out European qualification for Wigan Athletic.
The Latics midfielder has rediscovered his best form and has scored great goals in the last two games.
He's aiming to add to his tally at Craven Cottage tonight as Wigan bid to follow up Tuesday's 3-2 win over Aston Villa.
Bullard said: "We definitely have an eye on Europe and you never know what could happen between now and the end of the season.
"We did well against Aston Villa in midweek and three wins to finish with would make it very interesting. In fact, I would go so far to say European qualification remains a realistic possibility.
"We have always been there or thereabouts and I have never put us out of the equation, even when we slipped back a bit after losing at Newcastle last week.
"I am looking forward to facing Fulham. They have a good home record and it would be nice to do the double over them."
Bullard is not the only Latics star with confidence on the up. Team-mate Henri Camara bagged a goal brace against Villa and Bullard was quick to praise the Senegalese striker.
He added: "Henri is a class player to have in the side and he is very sharp when the ball comes to him in the box.
Finish
"He is one of those players who can make something happen out of nothing. As soon as he gets the ball he looks to beat the first man and get a shot off as quickly as possible.
"We saw that against Villa, his first one was a great finish. He is always going to be a threat and likes to run at defenders."
Manager Paul Jewell simply wants Latics to continue where they left off against Villa.
A win for Wigan tonight will set them up for Saturday's showdown with Portsmouth.
This will also be a special occasion for Bullard, who signed for Pompey boss Harry Redknapp as a youth player at West Ham on the same day that Paolo Di Canio signed for the first team at Upton Park in 1999.
Bullard added: "Harry is a character. It will be good to see him again, but before we can start to think about Portsmouth, we have to do the business at Fulham."
Meanwhile, veteran defender Stephane Henchoz, who will again deputise for injured skipper Arjan De Zeeuw, is understood to be a target for Cardiff.
The Bluebirds have also been watching midfield Damien Francis.
Manager Jewell expects few favours from a Fulham side who have been exceptionally strong at Craven Cottage but Wigan know it is a must-win clash if they are to maintain their slim hope of a UEFA Cup spot.
