ROCHDALE extended their unbeaten run to four thanks to the brilliance of Matt Gilkes and the coolness of Ricky Lambert.
After a distinctly forgettable first period the home side came to life early in the second when Gilkes made a great double save to deny David Pipe and Chris Palmer.
The young keeper then kept out a Julien Baudet free kick but was powerless when Dan Martin dispossessed Mark Jackson and fired home from
20 yards.
Cue Ricky Lambert é the big striker scraped a post from distance on 75 minutes and then produced a peach of a pass that resulted in a penalty
courtesy of a foul by Baudet on Chris Dagnall. Dales leading scorer then coolly converted for his 20th goal of the season.
In the dying minutes a goalline clearance by Baudet denied Gary Jones and former Manchester United keeper Kevin Pilkington kept out another Lambert strike.
