Kiki Musampa

CITY are believed to be tracking Charleroi defender Mahamadou Kere and Feyenoord winger Romeo Castelen.

Blues scouts are understood to have watched Burkina Faso defender Kere in Belgiumin action for his Belgian club side, while Stuart Pearce will know all about 22-year-old Surinamese winger Castelenés ability because City have close links with Feyenoord.

Midfielder Kiki Musampa is being tipped for a switch to the Dutch club this summer if the Blues do not sign him permanently at the end of his loan spell from Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

If we dont sign some quality players in depth next year we are going to be in the same position as this year or maybe be in Birminghams position, if it wasnt for some youth players helping fill the gaps we would be in trouble, the problem is, is that some of them are not yet good enough for first team, such as flood and croft and BWP we need to get rid of dead wood though and I do apprciate that pearce is buying young players which in the long term should save us money, but you also need some tried and tested players in there to bring them on.

i'd keep musampa, but i fear him being left on the bench for the boro game means that his pearce bridges have been burned.

why are we getting rid of musampa??? Recent injuries have proved we need additions to the squad not replacements. We should be keeping Chris, i think he has played a lot better in the centre of midfield, no he's not our best player, but he certainly isn't the worst.

Romeo Castelen is class hes got 4 caps for holland and has already got his first hat trick at international level and he is only a 22 yr old winger. HE IS A MUST BUY Mr Pearce please please we need class oh and buy the way get rid of sibs, d mills, sun, reyna and bwp

It's simple... Wayne Bridge, David Dunn, Thomas Gravesen and Mikael Forssell. Kiki Musampa is a waste of space, he looks good at home but his lack of effort is appalling. Tell him to do one.

Lets not forget that Kiki and Rierra are on loan so their future at City is by no means secure. Kiki was brought in as a LM player and has not performed in that position, Rierra the same, he seems capable but too slow for the PL. Castalan seems a good choice for our LM problem. My biggest fear is that we will lose our promising youngsters before they make the big time; Micah has already attracted the big boys. We need to keep Barton and Distin and dump the likes of Sib and Jihai Sun because they are just not PL quality. Wayne Bridge and Julio Arca would be perfect!!

Could get excited at the prospect of Castelen, however, in reality he'll probably end up being signed by Spurs.

get them if this is true.by the way people are saying city must get rid of Kiki but when i look on the voting of the best player or players of a particular game then kiki seems to have the second or third best vote that tells me he should be kept as the team is also not big enough.

Andy in Oldham - with that bunch you are suggesting we'll have to sign another physio too look after them. Graveson aside they are all more injury prone than Reyna.

cheadle indeed. keep cheeky, bring in castelan and kere. lose mills, jihai and thatcher, and retire reyna. but here's a contreversial statement - i believe we should keep sibbers, just never play him upfront as a striker..we always knock it up to his big bald eagle head and it usually ends up wide of the net. but when you consider how small the squad is, he is one of the only real quality players we have.

Chris - Heskey? Heskey? Are you mad? Worst striker EVER to play for England. His goal ratio is 1:15 at best. We've got enough strikers who can't find the net, thank you!

Wouldn't understand letting K go; he's one of a few that wants to play football and keeps the ball on the carpet for a change.
Castelen is a RIGHT winger, very quick and young of age. Very little experience though, albite his few games in the Dutch team (a few months ago). If he's in the Dutch squad for the WC-finals and gets to play, he might pile up his price. Would be surprised if he would change Feyenoord for City at the mment.
Keke played a couple of years in Belgium. Was a bit headless at the start and picked up red cards frequently. Became more quiet last two years and turned out to be one of the better defenders in the Belgium league. Compare him to Mettemo, although Keke can also play in midfield. Think he could be in as a replacement for SD to be honest, if SD is leaving.
Agree we should not sell a lot of players and try to strenghen the squad with 2 or 3 players worthfull buying, also depending who is leaving in the summer (SD and JB?).

citymatt - are you having a laugh sibs a quality player, he can't score, as a striker and everytime he plays in midfield he can't make a successful pass. The root cause of every single breakdown in a city passing pahase or attack is sibiersky. he needs to be released.

Generally nothing comes of supposed links to player's that City are interested in.Our finishing position in the league will not help in convincing player's to join either.I'm only convinced when player's are actually signed so City should, in so far as possible,keep their targets as secretive as they can.Speculation and lots of rubbish with no substance sells papers and keeps text and telecommunications in business,sadly.I do hope City sign some quality player's which are badly needed ASAP.

Im a bit dubious about signing Kere, he plays for Charloi and their last export to our squad didn't exactly excell did he! Castelan would be a major coup if we got him. But we need more than 1 extra midfielder, especially if we are gonna pass on Kiki and Riera! We need left midfield sorting, i would like Arca, we need 2 central midfielders i would like Malbranque and Gravesen, we could need a replacement for Distin i would like Upson. Get shut of Mills, Thatcher, Reyna, Sibs and Sun, replace with D'Alessandro, Lua Lua and Dunn

Let's write them off before we know anything about them, that's what fans usually do isn't it?! we can't really afford (thanks to JW & AM) any players here in the UK so are forced to look abroad.
