Northampton 2 Rochdale 2

ROCHDALE produced a stunning second-half comeback having gifted their promotion-chasing hosts a two-goal lead.

In the sixth minute the Dale defence and keeper Matt Gilkes in particular failed to deal with a corner and left Josh Low with the simplest of finishes.

Home leading scorer Scott McGleish then doubled the lead with a wonderful volley ten minutes before the break.

With the introduction at the break of substitutes Iyesden Christie and Chris Dagnall, Rochdale came out from half time a different outfit and leading scorer Rickie Lambert produced a stunning volley of his own early in the second half after good work by the two substitutes.

In the final minute of the game Dale were awarded a penalty when marauding defender Alan Goodall was pulled down and Lambert made no mistake from the spot for his nineteenth goal of the season to give his side a thoroughly merited share of the spoils.
