FC UNITED will play UniBond Division One side Clitheroe away in a friendly on April 15, which had been a clear weekend in their league schedule.
A spokesman for the Rebels said: "With a free week manager Karl Marginson was eager to keep the players fully match-fit for the last few games of the season."
The Manchester Road End at Gigg Lane, where the majority of the FC United support gather for home games, will be closed for Saturday's clash with Cheadle Town, as hosts Bury carry out "essential maintenance work".
The club will open the South Stand and Main Stand.
How do you think FC will perform against UniBond opposition? Have your say.

I think the difference in quality between divisions between step 5 and step 3 is fairly marginal. The fewer promotion places leaves a bottleneck in all the divisions. As for how FC will do against Clitheroe, we beat Woodley, another Unibond div 1 club, but both teams played select XIs. I suppose the answer to the question depends on what teams are selected. I dont mind anyway, its only a friendly and no doubt a good day out. Viva la revolution, come on FC.
Stuart Brennan! Are you the exclusive FC commentator now? Does the MEN still allow you to cover the sweet science? Guess not.
Tommy
You could continue your highly intellectual debates on the proper FCUM fans message board.
That might stretch you a bit more?
Equally, he could come down to our local. Can't see him doing it somehow.
Would one of you FCU supporters please help me out.
How many leagues (and which ones) does your team have to move through before arriving in the league?
Thanks
Timmy of Tonka aka Stuart (boiling blood) Brennan at what point did the rabble become renamed the Rebels. Shurely shome artistic rebranding licence. As for intellectual debates thats why we are here but regrettably we are still waiting.
There has been an erroneous report on Ceefax and/or Teletext stating that FC were to play a home match last night against Chadderton. This was wrong. The matches against Chadderton are still scheduled to be played at home on 12th April, and away on 19th April at Boundary Park. See the fixtures page on the FC United wed site for up to date fixtures information or MEN (when they are reported). The next game is against Cheadle Town the reverse NWCFL Div 2 league game this Saturday 1st April 2006 at 3:00pm.
Chris, Port Elizabeth. We are in the the NWCFL Div.2. This is step 6 of the non league pyramid, so thats six promotions from the football league. Five assuming we get promoted this season which looks increasingly likely.
Chris, another 5 leagues to plough through before league 2..... assuming we're promoted. Thats NW Counties 1, Unibond 1, Unibond Prem, Conference North, Conference, then the league.
BS Defector. By your local I assume you mean Gigg Lane. Trebles all round.
Timmy, I've tried my main man! I've looked all over the internet for the FC United of Bury official website so I can post comments on there, but the FCUB site cannot be found! Maybe you could help? Where is Heywood by the way. My mum used to live in an old indian town in the Panhandle of Florida called Heywood Jiblomee, but I don't think it is the same place probably.
