Marginson made six changes to the team beaten by Flixton three days earlier and his new line-up responded by chalking up the rebel club's second biggest win of the season over a shell-shocked Leek CSOB.
Assistant-manager Phil Power got the ball rolling when he struck after just four minutes and Rory Patterson quickly added a second - FC United's 100th competitive goal.
Patterson went on to complete his hat-trick and, with Power adding his second plus further goals by Steve Torpey, new boy Dave Swarbrick and Chris Simms, the champions-elect ran riot to open up a surely unassailable 19-point lead.
Said Marginson: "I was looking for a positive reaction to Wednesday's disappointment and I got one." Tweet

ChelFCski play the Leek Blindschool score eight and suddenly everything is sweetness and light. Watch the complaceny settle in and Oldham take advantage. 2,500 crowd too...the numbers are creeping downward. Looks like the bean counter has been found out.
Did Leek hit the pub before the game? With the big victory I expect the plastic-pub-league fans to start showing up again. Any truth to the rumor that "Harry's Bar" will be the new club sponsor and have their logo (big fat guy with an ale in hand) on the new kits??? Awesome. Sort of like the Lansing Lugnuts minor-league baseball club in Michigan. If you are a joke, you might as well be part of it.
(Yawn) Boooorrring
No Tommy, My drinking establishment will not ever be associated with FC United of Bury. Although with the amount of alchohol that the typical FC fan needs to consume to convince themselves they are watching anything other than pub footie, I might have to expand if I were to sponsor the club. Too many damn commies in the group though. I hate commies.
Just what United needed after the Flixton freeze out. What impressed me was the brilliant atmosphere, which I'm sure helped the lads to victory and with results at New Mill, Norton, West Brom and Siddy
going our way it was another top weekend....see yous all at Oldham.
