And the red rebels could have few complaints about their 2-1 defeat in front of a crowd of 1,924.
Graham Vaughan gave Flixton a deserved 36th minute lead when he curled in a shot from the edge of the box and there was further heartache for FC United as Lee Wilkinson made it 2-0 early in the second-half.
Skipper Dave Chadwick pulled one back for the hosts four minutes from time, but the visitors held on in a frantic finish. Tweet

That was the cowdest night game yet. It will be Big coat, woolly hat and pullover for the next night game.
Flixton deserved to win. They worked hard for each other for the full 90 minutes and generally looked the better side. They closed us down fast not giving our players room to play. They were solid in defence and made an unbelievable amount of goal line clearances. Their keeper even managed to save a pen from Rory Patterson near the end. I knew this would be a tough game from watching the Boxing Day game when Flixton displayed a marked improvement from the pre-season friendly. Looks like Barrie George has got himself a new song. He here, hes there, hes every ohhum where. Barrie George! Barrie George! He played mid-field in the second half against Woodley Sports and now centre forward for a corner in the dying minutes against Flixton. The defeat might be a timely reminder that no team has the divine right to win a league. I bet Karl will remind our players of that before the Leek CSOB match on Saturday. Viva la revolution, come on FC.
I'm glad you're going up this season I don't want Chaddy to beat me up again.
Credit is due not only to the 2000 United who braved arctic weather, but also to Flixton who took the game to us and clearly relished playing in the game of their lives. That said a rather lack lustre United could have and should have drawn the game, if only Patterson had scored from the spot.
We wont play many teams as game as Flixton and I dont begrudge a United area like Flixton collecting the points..but dont let it happen again
This may be the greatest football match ever played. The mighty Flixton Stampeders triumph!!! The mighty Flixton Stampeders triumph!! 1900?? 1900? Well I see the "passion" is dying as people are starting to sober up to reality. The FC "match goin'" fans are just going. Going home that is and staying there. I reckon (thre that in only to prove my allegiance to all things Americana) that most of them certainly were not Old Trafford frequents and they are more than content to stay home and watch the television like they were doing before. And don't give me crap about it being cold. Hello? it is colder in the States during the winter and I don't see any shortage of people at college and NFL gridiron games. Face it Free Tread and Eric the Pink, FC United is dying (and even quicker than I expected!) Hooray! Hip hip Hooray!
Good work Flixton. Just like big brother Chelski, ChelFCski Nomads have been firmly put back in their places. Just as Abramovichs millions has been unable to buy the Champions League Cup for Chelski, Walshes thousands can't stop a junior team with the right attitude and application turning ChelFCski over. Where were the missing "loyal" fans. A few more results like that one and you watch the support disappear as quickly as it appearded. Free entry or no free entry. You can't buy loyalty.
You are sooooo right tampa fraud. That's it, I'm not going to support a team in the cold, I am not going to support a team that loses. I am soooo gullible. I am going to rush back and put my name down for a season ticket at OT next year - but will wait till I know how much more I will have to pay to help those cute glazer boys pay off the 'comfortable debt'. My only regret is that I was not a member of staff at OT and could have given those gorgeous glazer boys ??72 for a ticket for the Holy Grail League Cup final rather than in previous years gained a free one.
Your would be more credible tampa fraud if you desisted from puerile personal insults, But I suppose when your cupboard of reason is bare, what else can you do?
No one ever said Rome was built in a day. Forza FCUoM
Viva Mexico! Viva Mexico! And an even better denouement would be for the World Baseball Classic to be won by ..... yes, you know who!
Tommy, it wasn't long ago you were saying you didn't believe the FC attendance figures were true. Now there's been a low gate, you suddenly believe they're true. You're pathetic.
Thanks to the lad from Swinton for his comments, although thinking you were worth the draw is a bit sweet.
What you say is spot on though, cos playing you is the highlight of the season . All the lads were eagerly awaiting the game and it didnt disappoint. The turnout was brilliant and the noise deafening....oh and yes and it was monkeys. My mates are
like me all United and after what I told them they will all be up for the Leek game.
Again thanks to all the United who appreciated our football.
JJ and his multicoloured tie wardrobe. You are so true to type I can't help but think J K Rowling invented you. Facts are you don't go to games so what would you know about the cold or loyalty. As for peurile comments you have the market (geddit?) covered. Get on get on get on that glory train. Here's to the best pub side playing at Gigg Lane. Hurrah.
Tampa fraud you say 'facts are you [ie me] dont go to games'. And where did you get that 'fact' from? You are simply full of ****, not surprising when you mouth off without having a clue about the people you are directing your spittle soaked abuse at. For a long time you (incorrectly) guessed what line of business I was in, and had several stabs at that, all wildly off the mark. Now you are making guesses about the clothing I wear, again wildly inaccurate. But as for the latter I will give you a clue as to what I never wear - a replica MU shirt. I donated that to a charity shop last summer. You sad, sad saddo
Mr. Gigli, I stated that rounded numbers such as 4000 or 3000 or 4500 or 3500 are clearly inflated. If they are going to take an acurate count and spare us from the hyperbole they report acurrate figures such as the 1900 and change that showed up this past match. You would think they would count the gate the same every match, even the ones where they let people in free. I've noticed the freebie gates always seem to have inflated and round numbers. I can see the bean counter now, "Well we didn't count them when they came in (looking around) looks to be about 4000 tonight boys. Book it Dano!" FCU of Bury till it dies!
With Tampa maths as bad as Tommys aka Dash Walny ( the Andy Walsh anagram) there is no wonder United has become a financially crippled.
Tommy you really are the most pathetic individual ever known to this site. Everybody who reads the comments on FC articles agrees aswell. The only person who agrees with you is yourself with a different name (Malcolm, Walny etc)
Go and support a team instead of spouting poison about a non-league team.
did not make wednesdays game.great to see 1900 plus did though.looking forward to saturday.fcum is going from strength to strength.bitter mid winter game 1900 fantastic.leek on sat, hope stan from leek enjoys it,i know he was concernd how many pies to order in the summer.fantastic season so far.when after 20 years i did not renew my OT season ticket.i thought i might become a billy no mates like tampa.but alas its been great to see many lads from OT living and loving the anti premship / sky / glazer funbus that is fc-united.our gates will fluctuate we know, but our core support will grow and grow.even looking forward to the summer friendlies.our support can help wimbledon and other supporter led clubs, not forgetting bury our hosts this season.im sure we have helped them financialy.the UNITED FAMILY lives on at OT and gigg lane.
JJ and his multicoloured tie wardrobe you don't read so well being full of fabulous ideas. The role I see you in (albeit inadequately) is marketing as BS is writ huge across your jaunty name and pretentious words. Of course you returned the replica shirt to the charity shop you purchased it from. Did they have a Chelski shirt with blue and white braces to match in your size?
This is from Tommy's e-mail. QUOTE: If they are going to take an acurate (sic) count and spare us from the hyperbole they report acurrate (sic) figures such as the 1900 and change that showed up this past match. UNQUOTE. What hope is there of ever engaging in a sensible debate with someone capable of writing a sentence like that? I've read it several times and it just doesn't make sense. But to deal with the point about rounding up figures. Surely if they do round up, they could just as easily round 1,900 up to 2,000. But no. Tommy believes this figure because it suits him. I think the same can be said for all his crackpot ideas.
For anyone who has't seen the dvd, get it. Quality memories and the passion shines through from the players and the terraces. Tommy, Malc, Terry whoever or whatever you are, look at your own life instead of those of others because you really are making a fool of yourself. I mean, getting personal with people you have never met, if you're that incensed by your 'injustice' get to the ground and get it off your chest. It would ensure a great crowd seeing you running for cover. Get a grip, or even better, a hobby or pastime because you pretty much live on this site and you're showing yourself up. Like the kid I have in my class blurting out nonsense to feel better. Not you is it? FCUM
there you go again tampa fraud, as ever reduced to issuing pathetic insults. At least this time you admit your own vision is inadequate. You must have got into a complete lather over the weekend about the latest FCUM triumph, now you appear to be so dazed and confused you have resorted to insulting yourself. Which, assuming you do know about yourself ought to have some vestige of veracity.
Phil the dullard (those that can etc). Does your mummy know you are posting on this site? What I find most fascinating is whatever you plastics have to say as a malformed argument always finishes with a physical threat or being confronted by large numbers of "fans". I will be there tomorrow will you? I notice that not one of you plastics responded to Harrys Bar post. Thats because the real betrayers of the so called revolution are the mindless happy clappy replica shirt wearing xenophobic wannabee big club "fans". Hardly a transformation let alone a revolution. You are what you think you are. Pathetic train spotter types who wouldn't know a coherent argument if you if it poked you in the eye. You are conformist cannon fodder for the Walshes of this world who know how easy you are led and how easy it is to exploit and manipulate you are. No wonder your arms are often extended skywards.
Mr. Giggleface,
Typical response from the FC faithful. You can't argue that the rounded figures of some of the earlier games were pure hype, but you can point when some words are not spelled accurately.
You are lead by a failed author/politician. Answer me this Giggleface (do they call you that because people can't stop laughing when they see your face?): If Andy is such a successful author, why does he need a salary at all from FC?
Tommy. Let's be really pedantic, or as your friend would say, "pendantic". Answer me in simple words why in heaven's name FC would round up gate figures earlier in the season and not now. And also tell me why you believe these figures now and not before.
Quote the GMOney in Mancuria - "Tommy you really are the most pathetic individual ever known to this site. Everybody who reads the comments on FC articles agrees aswell. The only person who agrees with you is yourself with a different name (Malcolm, Walny etc) Go and support a team instead of spouting poison about a non-league team."
Thanks for the compliment G-Money. I strive to be the most annoying person here. I thought Free Red had me beat by at least a country mile, but it was great to hear that I am indeed #1 in the hearts of all the FC fans. I'm #1! I'm #1.
Anyways, thanks again for ranking me so high!
