IN reality one point was scant reward for Rochdale having dominated their play off chasing hosts from first whistle to last, but it looked like another afternoon of frustration until they bagged a more than deserved late equaliser.

Much the better side in the opening period with Lee Cartwright in particular going close on no fewer than four occasions Dale managed to fall behind just before the break when the back four switched off to allow Steve Guinan a free header from a right wing cross.

The second half was a case of more and more of the same and it seemed as though even a point would be beyond Rochdale until Ricky Lambert found himself on the end of a Simon Ramsden cross, controlled it on the run and cleverly popped it beyond the keeper for his 14th goal of the season in the 84th minute.
