FC United 0 Nelson 1

SHELL-SHOCKED FC United boss Karl Marginson urged the Rebels to learn a harsh lesson after seeing them crash out of the Moore and Co Solicitors League Division Two Trophy.

Marginson's men made an unexpected quarter-final exit when visiting Nelson, who'd lost their previous game 14-0, stunned all but a handful of the 3,007 Gigg Lane crowd into silence by snatching a last-gasp extra-time winner.

The 1-0 defeat - only FC United's third all season - leaves them free to concentrate on wrapping up the title, with their lead now down to 11 points and all the teams beneath them having at least a game in hand.

Marginson said: "Fair play to Nelson, they set their stall out for a draw and ended up winning, but hopefully it will remind us we don't have a divine right to win matches.

"We're disappointed, but we now have 14 cup finals ahead of us in the league, starting with Saturday's trip to Chorley to meet Daisy Hill. We've responded well to our previous losses and I expect us to do the same this time. "

FC United dominated possession without creating many clear-cut chances and, when they did find a way through Nelson's resolute defence, Adie Orr saw his 105th minute effort flagged offside.

I, along with hundreds of other fans, missed extra time completely. I'm a great fan of FC but not of the stadium announcer. When did he announce there would be extra time, because I didn't hear him and neither did all those who streamed out after the final whistle. Get a grip Mr. Announcer, we haven't all got ears like Russian spies. Do what all good announcers do. REPEAT THE MESSAGE in case people are in the toilet or otherwise.

Loved the result against Nelson! Nelson outclassed FC in every aspect of the match. I even ran into a fellow polish mates. I await the excuses by the FC faithful (ironic don't you think). They call me Dash because I am fast.

Half of the persons at the game were let in for FREE and only 3K showed up? The passion is dying like characters in a Freddy Kruger movie.

Seen the gate receipts then tommy, to know how many got in free? But then again, you never have been one for letting facts get in the way of your prejudices. As passion, just wait for next season, when loads of 'wait and see-ers' decide not to renew at the glazerdome. Forza FCUoM

Johnniejohn, tunbridge wells. Ive no doubt you know this, but Dash/Tommy is one and the same. I think it only fair he/she should be refered to as Tommy aka Dash whenever he/she posts, anywhere on the MEN website. As for the game, great turn out for a cup game. OT was down 33% for the last quarter final and that was a major trophy. Just goes to show the Prem bubble has burst and people are waking. Viva la revolution.

Enslaved Red - Once again, everyone sing along with me, "HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU? MY NAME IS TOMMY. I LIVE IN TAMPA. GET IT?" I post only as myself. I don't hide my identity and have to reason to. Once again Free Red, they call ME Tommy because that is my NAME.

I get the impression Tommy aka Dash Walny (the Andy Walsh anagram) is a little disappointed his attempt at reverse psychology which has exposed him. I sussed out this 'Dash' rubbish when the myth-smith first posted on a FC story using this particular pseudonym. The Castleton Gabs story I believe. I wasnt the only one.

Free Red, I agree with your sentiments, but I do think tommy is separate from teh dash/malcolm/various other nommes de plume that have appeared here. For the simple reason that tommy gets out of his pram about the fun we have with Cuba flags and Che chants. Interesting that the London PR firm engaged by the glazers want to remain anonymous! I dont know whether tommy is a paid lackey, but as everyone sees through them, they are simply wasting their own time and efforts. I do hope they are being paid.

Perhaps your right Jonnie, but it seems a bit of a coincidence that they both post on the same obscure stories, sometimes at ungodly hours (Tampa is five hours behind us) and on this story within 5 minutes of each other. Neither of them know anything about football other than what they gleamed from a book. They both constantly tell people to 'Go away', which is one of Tommy's idiosyncratic traits when he gets frustrated. They both try to simulate Manc slang but almost always out of context. For example: "Dash Walny, Manc" (meaning he is where he's from) it makes no sense. There are better examples, but not on here - yet. They both slip into Americanisms and are both obsessed with Andy Walsh. I think we might have to agree to disagree on this one.

Dear Free Red, Eric, JohnJohn and all other doubters. Upon the announcement of the annointing of Andy Walsh as Supreme Leader of the FC Nation, just want to let you know that this has been coming from the start. Andy and Adam are profiting from the anger and dismay that they stirred up when still with SU and this should be the final nail in the coffin of any doubt you ever had about Andy's motives. The pockets are being lined. Good luck with your "votes". The opportunists are running the place so don't bother.

Free red, who cares if they are one and the same or separate? I have suggested it in the past, as have others, maybe you too, but whether they are 1, 2 or 10, we should just ignore their pathetic ramblings. Though I do wonder if they went to school with andy walsh and got battered by him in a playground fight a long time ago. That might well explain why they are soooooo obsessed with him. Otherwise the logical explanation would be the sad anorak norman no-mates scenario. Venceramos!

Free Red, Johnjohn, Eric, I would think the Coronation of AW would be the final wake up call that you have been duped into supporting something that is not at all what is advertised. FC United was created as a "release" for all disgruntled Man Yoo fans, but in turn has become a small profit maker for the afformentioned. I have read some of the ridiculous statements about the Glazers and their Tampa dealings and can attest that most is blatantly untrue. And who would benefit from untrue statements about the Glazers? I posted a retort to something that was on the MUST website, but it got edited and dropped (probably due to length). If you connect the dots you get the picture.

correct me if I am wrong, but I think ??25 000 is about the national average these days, on not far from it. Hardly what I would call exploiting the club. But then again, I dont have a hidden agenda.

JJ - Start looking at the club constitution. Several other "perks" for the executive and board members. Free insurance and probably some other "bonuses". Free Travel? Free car hires? Free food? Free oil changes by the Blackpool Mechanics? It all starts to add up in addition to the 25k.

Exactly Johnjohn. I see your starting to see things my way. I believe the board and the new "general manager" do have a hidden agenda to make money for themselves on the backs of the anti-glazer factions. Quick to cash -in on a club they claim to support when things get rough and they don't agree with who bought the team. Especially when FC's ill mother SU was the one who started all this hubbub about the evils of the American Glazer family. Glad to see you are coming around Johnjohn!

You are a complete idiot tommy of tampa. I said 25 K was hardly (ie not exactly) exploiting the club, and there was NO hidden agenda. I and thousands like me, will NEVER put a penny in the glazer coffers. Just get that into your thick skull and get lost, preferably inside an alligator in some florida swamp.

JohnJohn - No need to get upset now. I think you need to do more research into your new "General Manager" and examine his political career prior to his involvement in sports. I think you are trading off a club run by a businessman for one run by a failed politician and it is certainly up for debate which one is worse.

Me upset? Not a chance, another total misunderstanding confirming what a thick skull you have tommy of tampa. That and a thick skin cos no one is interested in debating along the lines of your warped agenda. Up the alligators

JohnJohn - My point exactly, you seem to "know" everything about the Glazer family (reading the various FC website I would say none of you do) but yet known of you can tell me anything about Andy Walsh and what he did before his SU and book writin' days. The "truth" about the Glazer family that you "know" is so schewed that it is ridiculous. Especially about how the stadium issue went down here in Tampa, you have the story ALL WRONG. And in the same light you have the Man Yoo situation all wrong because of misinformation. That is why I am here JohnJohn to offer you a perspective of someone who has rooted for a team owned by the Glazers for a decade + 1yr.
Nothing but IMPROVEMENTS to the club I root for since they took over. And their STICKING IT to the City Council here is certainly admirable. But you won't read that in any paper there because no one ever interviews any real Bucs fans.

I neither "know" nor "care" about the glazers cos what they do is their own business. It does not interest me.
I appreciate tommy of tampa thinks he knows everything and, for whatever reason, wants to patronisingly protect us. The glazers are neither our problem nor our solution cos we dont care. The world is littered with divorces and failed relationships. If the glazers, or their apologists, thought we would be naive and stupid enough to stay due to some misguided loyalty or undying oath of allegiance, they made a big a miscalculation Then we can all move on in the fresh and invigorating air of FCUoM. Venceramos, viva che, viva castro, yanquis no

JJ you rather sad individual its a football club. "misguided loyalty or undying oath of allegiance" its a measure of love and commitment. Nothing more nothing less but do spare us the psycho babble and "relate" approach to irrational football club support. Pretentious ......you fill in the missing word. .
