Bury: Casper turns to old hands

CHRIS Casper faces the biggest match of his brief managerial career tomorrow when Bury entertain Rushden and Diamonds at Gigg Lane.

It's a match the Shakers can't afford to lose if they're to climb away from the relegation area.

They're now third bottom after Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers and Torquay's victory over Leyton Orient, just three points clear of Rushden.

Colin Marrison had the only worthwhile effort as the Shakers slumped to a sixth defeat in seven games.

And Casper admits he is in a situation that calls for old heads rather than young kids.

As a result 32-year-old Scot David Hannah is set for a home debut after a brief appearance as sub at the Memorial Stadium.

"The kids have done exceptionally well and been like new signings for us," said Casper. "But in the position we're in you need players who have been there and done it."
