BURY boss Chris Casper made sure the weekend was not wasted after the match against Rushden and Diamonds was frozen off.

Casper, whose side have lost just once in their last seven outings in League Two, called the Bury players in for an intensive training session on Saturday.

"We got the lads in and did a big weights circuit," he said.

"It amazes me that managers complain about the number of games they've got and not having a chance to rest the players, but the first thing they should do is to run them.

"I can't understand it! I changed things around a little bit and kept our lads on their toes."

And Casper has confirmed that he will be giving Burscough midfielder Liam Blakeman trials this week.
