"The players set the benchmark in terms of energy and commitment last weekend in the FA Cup [against Brentford] and we have worked hard on the positive elements of that display all week," the Rochdale boss said.
"If we can carry it forward into our league play, there is no reason why we cannot go from strength to strength."
Still without the suspended Gareth Griffiths, Parkin has a slight worry over the fitness of Warren Goodhind but is unlikely to make changes against a Rovers side who this week installed Lennie Lawrence as director of football and made the appointment of caretaker boss Paul Trollope permanent.
