NO sooner had caretaker boss Chris Capser been boosted by the return of a full compliment of strikers, than he lost Allan Smart again.

The former Oldham and Crewe hitman has spent most of this season in the stands after two red cards left him with a lengthy suspension - and now the hitman is out for a six weeks with medial ligament damage.

The Shakers have not lost in the three games while Casper has been in charge, and he wants that to continue tomorrow at home to Darlington.

"I'm looking for the players to build on our excellent win over Rushden," said Casper.

"The players have responded well since Graham left the club, but I'm still taking it every game at a time."
