Stockport v Wycombe preview

STOCKPORT will be attempting to turn the topsy-turvy League Two table upside down tomorrow, writes GUY NELSON.

County boss Chris Turner, whose side take on Wycombe Wanderers at Edgeley Park, believes the current league table is a flawed way of judging who the main candidates for promotion will be.

"It will take at least 12 games before you can get a real idea of how teams will do this season," said Turner, whose side are on an unbeaten run of five games, the last of which earned them their first win of the season.

"Right now there are teams who have drawn a few games and in the bottom half, but a couple of wins and they will be back up there.

"It's great that we have a win under our belts at last but we really could have won five out of the seven games we have played.

"We have to make sure we've turned a corner. All credit to the players in the way they've responded."

Keeper Carl Ikeme, who is on a four-month loan from Wolves, is likely to make his debut in goal, but otherwise Turner is expected to start with the team that won 3-1 at Grimsby.

Striker Tes Bramble has recovered from his knee injury and could be on the bench.

"Wycombe will be tough; like us, they have drawn five games this term," added Turner.

"John Gorman is an experienced manager and in Tommy Mooney and Nathan Tyson they have two major threats.

"They are one of my tips for the top this season, but we can match them; we can give them a game tomorrow."

LAST SEASON: Different divisions

KEY OPPONENT: Nathan Tyson - the speedy striker has started the season with five goals in seven games

PREDICTION: Stockport 1 Wycombe 0
