Non-league football: Vics go into administration

DEBT-ridden Conference National strugglers Northwich Victoria have gone into administration, it emerged last night, but it's hoped a takeover deal will be completed soon to safeguard the club's future, subject to approval by creditors.

Vics' prospective buyers, who are thought to be headed by wealthy local businessman Mike Connett, are expected to finance the completion of the club's new ground, the Victoria Stadium, which is currently under construction..
