POLICE have warned troublemakers to stay away from the derby match at Eastlands.

City take on United in a crunch encounter that could see the Reds take a giant leap towards taking the Premiership crown and officers have warned those intent on causing trouble to stay at home.

Police in plain clothes will be in and around the stadium attempting to identify any troublemakers and deal with them “as quickly as possible”.

And fans are being advised that pubs close to the ground will be closed during the match in an attempt to deter those without tickets from travelling to the area.

Anyone caught with alcohol on the streets within the alcohol exclusion zone, stretching from the city centre to the stadium, will have it confiscated.

And anyone arriving at the stadium under the influence of excess alcohol will not be allowed entry. Traffic disruption is expected around Eastlands and fans are advised to allow additional time for their journeys.Chief Superintendent Gerry Donnellan is match commander.

He said: “Our main aim for Saturday’s match is for the game to go ahead without any major disruption and be an enjoyable experience for everyone who attends.

“Anyone who may be thinking of coming to the match with the intention of causing trouble should stay away. My officers will take robust action against troublemakers so this minority of people do not spoil the day for the true supporters.”

I think it will be a pretty hostile day to be honest!! I reckon there will be at least 4000 rag's in the city end, I know about 12 who have tickets in the City end and I hardly associate with any southerners!! And if United score with so much riding on it for them they are probably going to celebrate!! I would advise any rag's in the City end not to do this as it will spoil your day!!

That's enough of an excuse for most of the Bitters not to turn up, as is the case week in week out. Such a shame for a massive club like City.

I will be there to cheer on the Champions Elect and expect all football loving fans to do the same.

It will be another chance for City fans to see a team they will never be......The Pride of Manchester.

It would also be fitting if FC were to parade their cups before the start.

Demo and A Mancunian(sic)... you're comments conveniently ignore the evidence to the contrary, namely the appalling reputation for misbehavior that precedes the unruly mob that follow your team wherever they play. You've dragged the name of Manchester through the mud on more than one occasion this season across Europe. Doubtless you would have again in Milan on Tuesday had it not been for the attrocious weather.
Expect to see riot shields and police horse charges outside the South stand tomorrow.

I hope the stewards do the job they are paid to do and escort any silly United fans out of the the City of MANCHESTER stadium. I'd hate to see it left to the City fans to do it.

Hey Jockstrap!! I too hope FC parade there cups as it will be more than you lot win this season!!! Lose tomorrow and Chelsea WILL win the league and the cup!! Ha ha Enjoy your 14% price increase oh forgot none of you have ever been to a game (I would have said Old Trafford but you probably went on the tour in 1992!!!)

Any scum found in the city sections, should be removed straight away. I'm sure the police must have some sort of idea already as to how many there will be in the home sections. I just hope they're ejected before they score.
