Manager Steve Parkin had no excuses for the 3-0 defeat, even though the loss to injury of talisman striker Grant Holt after just 18 minutes didn't help.
"Lincoln rolled us over and I have no complaints about the result," he said.
Two close-range strikes by former Norwich striker Gary Fletcher and a spectacular effort by ex-Hyde front man Simon Yeo knocked the stuffing out of Dale.
Parkin knows he has hard graft ahead of him as he looks towards the vital Easter fixtures against Scunthorpe and Macclesfield.
"Our game against Macclesfield on Monday now assumes massive proportions," he admitted.
