Rochdale

Preview: Rochdale v Boston

WITH Rochdale directors set to name the permanent successor to Steve Parkin, caretaker boss Keith Hill may have his last chance to throw his hat into the ring against Boston at Spotland.

"I am enjoying the job but it's a vast and steep learning curve," he said. "As to the position on a permanent basis, all I have been doing is concentrating totally on the players and I am enjoying the opportunity to prepare them in ways that I believe in.

"If I can do that I am sure that results will start to go in our favour."

Hill may well make changes from the side that started on Boxing Day, with wingers William Mocquet and Joe Thompson likely to start having made such an impression after climbing off the bench.

The game is a six-pointer, bearing in mind that Dale are just one place above the relegation trapdoor but can go above Boston if they beat them.

Last season: Rochdale 1 Boston 1

Key opponent: Jason Kennedy - On loan from Middlesbrough and has an eye for goal

Prediction: Rochdale 1 Boston 1 - The game seems bound to be a tight affair
