ROCHDALE boss Steve Parkin knows a result against Hartlepool tonight is vital if he is to keep the executioner's axe in the pantomime props box.

"We can't shy away from the fact that we need to win some games," he said.

"What we need to do is keep working, keep plugging away and keep creating chances.

"I've said before that we are not too far away and that we know what we need to make us that bit better and hopefully we can get to the transfer window and be able to do it."

With the exception of defender Mark Jackson, who is still struggling with a foot injury, Parkin has a fully-fit squad, but is unlikely to change the side that was unlucky to lose to high-flying Peterborough last Saturday.
