IN a game they controlled from first whistle to last, pint-sized striker Chris Dagnall again proved Rochdale's hero with his second brace in as many games to lift the fast-improving visitors further away from the foot of the League Two table.

Hesitant defending gave Wrexham an undeserved 13th minute lead when Chris Llewellyn fired home from 10 yards but from then on in Steve Parkin's side were in total control.

Three minutes into the second half, Dagnall fired home after a superb run and cross from skipper Gary Jones and on 76 minutes he netted again when keeper Michael Ingham was unable to hold an Alan Goodall shot.

After a dreadful start to the season, Dale have now lost just one game in seven and are heading towards mid-table respectability. Tweet
